Anzac with Kaisercraft's Remember Me

Anzac with Kaisercraft's Remember Me
Michele here today

Back to the first layout I had planned for these papers :)

A layout featuring my father in his uniform when he was just 18 years old, just enlisted in the army and off to fight in World War II.

Kaisercrafts Remember Me

The almost white base paper for this layout is the reverse of Estella, distressed, inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and mounted on the khaki brocade reverse of Alma.

Before adding anything else, I used a chicken wire template (this one is from The Crafters Workshop - Mini Chicken Wire. Tracy has the 12 x 12 versions here ) and Antique Linen, Tattered Rose and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks to add a little bit of colour to the background and, on top of that, stamped a lattice pattern with Tattered Rose. It's very subtle, but you can see a bit of it in the top left corner. The stamp is an old Prima one - very similar to the pattern on the next paper - the plainer half of the gorgeous Die Cut Foil Poppies.
I've saved the floral half for a more feminine layout.

The clock patterned strip along the vertical edge is the manufacturers strip from the bottom of Alma.

Barely visible now, under the main photo, there is a piece of the 6.5" Paper Pad version of Ava, on top of that the Post Card section of Marilyn, and on the right of the photo the "Words to live by" spot from the same paper.
Most of the other paper elements come from the Remember Me Collectables - the two clocks, the "We Remember" spot, the khaki label under the title and the fussy cut poppies. Also, slightly altered, the "Anzac" banner and the "Lest we Forget" piece. The three words are from a sheet of words inside the 6.5" Paper Pad - a great resource!

The other embellishments on this layout are a mix of elements. Next to the title is one of the pins worn on the collar of Dad's uniform - you can see it in the photo. Tucked under it is an Idea-ology gear with a textured brad in it's centre

The my2angels Cream and Wine Cherry Blossoms are perfect with these papers, and the other gold roses link them with the metallic and untreated wooden elements ( all stash left over from Finnabair's classes in Brisbane) .

An Idea-ology Spiral Bound Journalling Ticket was the base for this cluster. The crown is another of  the pins from Dad's uniform.

The stamping at the top of the post card is a Kaiser clear stamp - ''Postmarks" - stamped with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, and I added two extra photos. Maybe he sent them home with the postcard :)
They are both from his time spent in Darwin in 1946. Not all hard work there apparently!

I still have heaps of paper left from this collection - the 6.5" Paper Pad is very generous and will be fantastic for Cards and ATC's.
