I just about wet my pants

It doesn't take much to get me excited these days, locked away in my garage for 80% of my days any kind of focus, nice comment left, an order or even the phone ringing (minus those bloody telemarketers) can get me excited.

Anyway moving on to the wetting my pants part - I got my scrapbooking memories issue today and I am flicking through it to find my ad, as I always do then I move onto looking at the layouts to see if I know anyone and then usually I put it away till I have a quiet moment to read it. Well today I did everything around the other way, dunno why but I am so glad I did.

No I don't have a layout in there, in fact I reckon this is better. On page 23 in the scrapshop section is a selection of my charms woo hoo that was exciting, then low and behold on page 47 are my felt stars! Too much excitment for this old chick, so I did a little jig and squeal, found my ad and put the magazine away.

No idea why but I got the magazine out again and started looking through it properly from the beginning and bugger me days there's my blue rhinestone arrows on page 21. How I missed them the first time I dunno, blonde moment maybe?

So I am doing the happy dance in the kitchen when something caught my eye and well this is when I nearly wet my pants - there on page 21 are my boys ribbons. This is where it gets even better than a layout because I designed these ribbons (thanks to my DS for the inspiration) colours, words and all. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thanks for listening ladies I needed to get that out of my system, time for a celebration drink or two or three LOL

My first ever interview - as such

Yip my first ever interview for my2angels is here at the scraplounge blog

Obviously Time Magazine and a few others who I won't mention keep ringing me, honestly its getting to the point of harrasement! But you know time is limited so the Scraplounge got the first one.

Have a fabulous day everyone and DON'T FORGET BACK UP YOUR PHOTOS AND OTHER IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS ON YOUR COMPUTER - well do it after you have read my fastinating interview LOL

Anzac Day Layout

Remember last week when I said the Scraplounge CC was on this weekend and you only had to complete 3 layouts, which I believe I said I think I can handle that!!! Yeah well I didn't and being a twit & not reading properly I was suppose to upload them last night - yeah good on me, I only finished the layout last night just before 24 started at 11pm!!!! But I sort of have a good excuse apart from the fact DS had footy and DD was in the Anzac Day Parade March, damm Bigpond decided not to work for a period of time over the weekend - so in effect my life ended partly over the weekend. Up to 2 days they inform me before it will be fixed - obviously they are too busy being I'VE BEEN EVERYWHERE MAN except Runaway Bay fixing my internet connection!!!! Thank god it was up and running on Sunday morning and then I had alot of work to catch up with.

Oh and then my computer decided not to acknowledge any of my printers, god knows why, they just weren't on the system, I can only assume they disappeared with all the lost socks that go astray in the washing machine!!!! I eventually got that problem sorted after a few hours but the mystery with the socks is still just that - a mystery!

Anyway thats my Monday bitch out of the way. Time for some scrapbooking.

Here's the layout I created for the cc which had to have an aged photo (well I kind of aged it by changing it to sepia tones), with lace, buttons, ribbons, journalling about your photo and earth tones.

I wasn't aware of this fact, but none of us living, have marched in the parade nor with my Grandmothers medals. As Sarah is in the school student council she was asked for represent the school. She wasn't too impressed carrying the framed photo of her Great Grandmother, but in her defence she wasn't really aware of the story behind it all until that morning, but eventually we convidence her and thanks to another mother who overheard us, told Sarah that is was an honor and priviledge. She actually created quite a bit of attention and had a few people requesting photos of her. So being the Drama Queen and with her "it's all about me" attitude I think she was glad she did in the end.

My grandmother was a nurse in Egypt and Italy - obviously I missed out on the caring genes. I am the one who laughs when there is an injury and the angels are not allowed to complain about being hurt unless bones & blood are visible!

Just a few close ups

The charms that I used, apart from the together tag charm, are usually silver however I just inked them with Stazon Timber Brown Ink and sprayed them with a matt finish to stop the ink from smudging. Got to finally use our glass beads as a strand. I have added blue into the layout cause the original photo has blue in it, which I was going to replace after I had submitted it to the CC. DS reckons I should leave it as is. I dunno not sure what I will do.
The little petite frame just above the photo of Sarah is one of the new charms which arrived on Friday. Whoops just realised I didn't let you all know about the new arrivals, here's a photo of some of them.

The soccer ball charms came in time, as Sarah has her first soccer game representing the school today. And that is where I am about to head off to.

Have a great day and don't forget the Treasure Hunt starts today at the Top 50 Scrapbooking Top50

PS Here's a few photos for the rest of the family to view - you can look at them as well if you like, it just saves me from emailing them to everyone by posting them here:)

A few layouts to share

I stumbled across a new site the other day called Scraps of Us. Their current challenge is to create a layout using the photo below as your inspiration

And this is what took me 4 days to come up with.

Some of you may recognise the rhinestone tree which I used at Ready Set Scraps March Cyber Crop (haven't uploaded that layout yet, as I was in a rush to complete it. I want to add to it so will upload when I get it finished). The rhinestone circles are one of my designs, obviously not an original shape but I got them made up anyway.

Here I have used the same pink flower but in 3 different ways. The one on the left has our glass round beads in the centre. They come on a strand which you can obviously use like that, but I have only so far used them separately.
Middle one has been folded in half, pattern paper circle with our love charm and the one on the right I wiped white paint over it then put kindyglitz to finish it off.

I love our pink striped ribbon which obviously is tied in to a bow, green ric rac ribbon, flowers from our 200 bulk flower pack, mushroom charms and our silver rhinestone strip.

I have used the same pink flower again on top of our green flower then added our heart, moon & stars charm. Put a little glitter flower sticker inside it.

And for the tree I used our owl charms, cardstock punch hearts (instead of leaves) and some of our flowers, again from the 200 bulk pack.

On the edges of the pink cardstock, I just ran my stanley knife against it to give the rip effect. Oh and the cute pink acrylic mushroom under the tree is from buzz and bloom. The stamp on the acetate is a newbie from our stamp section. I really like this layout even if the photography of it is crocked but then again so am I so its a perfect match!

Now for the next 2 layouts these are for the April calendar challenge over at Purplescraps.

Coredinations cardstock used with Print Block PP. Chipboard title is from buzz and bloom which I inked.

PP is Rusty Pickle & Cosmo Cricket with coredinations cardstock as the background and I inked & painted buzz and bloom chipboard arrows. And you know where you can find the rest of the products BUT if you are a virgin to my blog pop over to www.my2angels.net ;)

You are going love the beginning of this story, and you won't need to reread it cause you read it right the first time. The bastards who broke into our house were so bloody noisy that I thought they were my ex-husband coming home from shift work - yeah you read right - he was staying with me, my partner and the kids. Since the self centred jerk doesn't make the time to see the angels and he needed somewhere to stay I saw it as a good opportunity for them to spend time with him. Silly me should have realised he hadn't change and slept 90% of the time (I asked him to leave after 3 long months).

So anyway the bastards (sorry no other word for them) went through all our wallets, files ingnored the laptop and all other electronic equipment. Cops reckon they were after money (notes only) and they to our knowledge haven't been caught. As I said in my journalling I am just so grateful none of the kids went downstairs thinking it was their father.

I have a busy weekend ahead, Cybercrop tonight at the Scraplounge, Sarah is in the Anzac Day march tomorrow because she is on the school student council and tomorrow night Mark has his first ever NIGHT league game to play woo hoo go Runaway Bay White under 13's

Since typing this I have had a delivery of more butterflies and ribbons so gotta go & get them uploaded to the website.

Have a safe, fun and creative weekend

My theory behind it and some layouts thrown in

I just want to explain my theory behind my2angels. I don't sell anything I wouldn't use myself, not saying I am a pro scrapbooker or anything but to me how can you sell something if you have never used it or know how to use it etc. So when I am creating (creating? that sounds like I know what I am doing LOL) I use the products I have on hand, so when I upload layouts to the various galleries this explains why in the description over 90% of the products are from my2angels.

I look and sound like a walking advertisment for my2angels but I just wanted to explain briefly some of my theory behind my2angels.

Hey remember the days when Shop Assistances would be waiting outside the dressing room to comment on how you looked, when you had just tried something on? 90% of the time their response was "that looks great on you" or "it suits you" and you knowing dam fine that you look like a cross between an elephant and a camel? Well I don't work like that, no BS from me definitely sarcasism thrown in at time but no BS!

Yesterday I received an email from one of the lovely ladies over at the
Scrap Lounge Top Sites where she said quote "Loving your products and I was saying to my friend today at least you experiment with your products and I can see what you have done on your blog or even ask you by email anything that I need to know or you can find out for me if I ask nicely :)"

Thank you so much for your kind comments this confirms what I have been trying to achieve has resulted in at least one happy scrapbooker. Oh and if you are reading this, look out in your letterbox because you never know what might turn up in there.

When you work for someone else you get the feedback you need, but being isolated and working from home you only know when people take the time to give it to you. So a HUGE THANK YOU for the feedback given and comments left here on the blog, it is soooooo much appreciated.

And speaking of the scraplounge they have their cybercrop this weekend. Only 3 layouts have to be completed by Monday night (phew I think I can handle that - just!) and what I like about it is there is no overall winner, but a winner from each catagory. So far the clues are:

1. Memories of yester-year

and 2. soft and dreamy,
pink and creamy,
sky so blue
the softest hue...

and we are still waiting on the lovely Naomi to spill her clues (hint hint young lady!).

I have been so slack but these are the 3 layouts I completed for last months cyber crop which was autumn themed.

and this one was a challenge we set ourselves to try and bring our mojos back into line. I had to use chipboard, paint and felt. There is paint on the chipboard scrolls and the glitter was an afterthought.

Oh and how funny mum rang me yesterday not happy with me complaining she wasn't allowed to read my blog HA HA that wil teach you for not buying me a barbie doll. She assures me she didn't read any further hmmm lets see how surprised she looks on Mothers Day.

Okay ladies that is way too much rambling from me for one post.

Have a Creative Day
Take care and thanks for reading

OTP Pen Pot for Mothers Day

Well the mojo has come back, then gone and come back again and I have no idea where it is at the moment. Mojos are a bit like kids really ah? One minute they are there full of energy, being nice and then in a split second GONE back to being little horrors who are here to torment us and increase our stress to near heart attack levels!

In between the comings and goings of the mojo I finally managed to finish an OTP project. Now before I go on, my views of mothers day is not to spend a ridicious amount of money on them, whilst we appreciate them I am sure they would also appreciate us not going into world crisis debt to buy them presents just because society tells us to. Mothers Day to me is the Angels making me something from the heart and this is what I have created for my mother (crap - mum if you are reading this do not go any further and GET BACK TO WORK!)

Here is a family pen pot for her desk at work that I have finally completed.

Everything used is available from my2angels, except the pot and couple bits of paper and paint.

I am loving our new rhinestone strips which I used underneath the photo of me and the angels. The little house I made on my brothers page is our silver rhinestone squares and for the roof is the buzz and bloom chipboard frills

And I can't forget my tree with our cute owl charm sitting on a flower which is from our 200 bulk flower pack. Underneath the tree is our little mushroom charm.

Someone said to me the other day that charms aren't your usual scrapbooking item, but I find they just give that little finishing touch. I have used 6 of them on this pen pot! We have over 75 charms at my2angels, some are quite unique ("quite unique" I sound like a toffee nose twit!!!) but they are unique.

The new little eye pins we now have in stock are coming in handy for attaching the charms. I have been putting our beads on the top and a little dimensional magic to hold them in place. The beads are sold in strands for easy storage cause you don't want to drop the container TRUST ME you will be finding the damm things for weeks afterwards!!!

Now that the Angels have gone off to the beach (god knows why, it isn't THAT hot here on the Gold Coast)but they are out of my hair which is a GOOD thing especially after 9 days of school holiday., I am going to get back to a new born baby card and a layout which I started in the early hours of this morning.

Roll on Tuesday, back to school, yeah ha

Warning to All Women

You've heard about people who have been abducted and had their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves. My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs.

It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine? I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans.

And then the thieves struck again.

My bum was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear-end to the thighs they had stuck me with earlier. But my new bum was attached at least three inches lower than my original! I realized I'd have to give up my jeans in favour of long skirts.

Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was drying my hair and was horrified to see the flesh of my upper arm swing to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was really getting scary - my body was being replaced one section at a time. What could they do to me next?

When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a turkey neck, I decided to tell my story. Women of the world wake up and smell the coffee! Those 'plastic' surgeons are using REAL replacement body parts -stolen from you and me! The next time someone you know has something 'lifted', look again - was it lifted from you?

THIS IS NOT A HOAX. This is happening to women everywhere every night.

WARN YOUR FRIENDS!

P.S. Last year I thought some one had stolen my Boobs. I was lying in bed and they were gone! But when I jumped out of bed, I was relieved to see that they had just been hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I keep them hidden in my waistband.

Thought this was too 'important' not to pass on... Have a wonderful day - with a joy filled heart.

BTW - These same thieves came to my closet and shrank my clothes! How do they do it? ???????????

Identify Thief this Easter

Be very aware this Easter, as identify thief is on the rise!

Be safe this Easter and happy creating.

Tracy

PS I have heard of a new diet whereby if you eat something bad just eat something healthy of the same colour and it will cancel the bad out.

So for every brown easter egg you eat this weekend, just have something brown to cancel it out.

For the white easter eggs I am sure a glass of milk will be fine.

Traumatic Day of Scrapbooking

It’s been quite a traumatic day for me, as I complete this layout for the cyber crop over a Ready Set Scrap. You see, I never got a Barbie doll as a young girl, no seriously you read right! None - I had a fake Barbie whose legs and arms couldn’t even bend.

The challenge was to scrap our favourite toy and whilst I never had one as a child, finally at the age of 36, mum gave me a Barbie for Christmas. I think it was the continuous digs, comments, harassment that she received from me for the past 30 odd years that she thought if she gave me one, I would shut up and stop torturing her. Well it hasn’t worked; I still mention it on a regular occurrence. I am in therapy for this issue and I believe mum is also too, for her role for depriving her oldest daughter of a Barbie. Oh I probably should mention that I have a younger sister who had a Barbie, no let me correct that, she had MORE THAN ONE Barbie and who brought them for her, need you ask!!!

Barbie sits with me at work each day, by my computer, reminding me of the years missed with her company. I could not find the photo evidence of me opening that special present on Christmas day 4 years ago, sadly such an event in my life the record is no where to be found, so I had to get a new photo of her to add to my layout.

And here is the layout of my beautiful friend, Barbie.

I am not sure of the pp in this layout as it came from my scraps folder. The cardstock is coredinations.

The chipboard leaves are from buzz & bloom (coated in Crystalina Kindyglitz), glitter butterfly (we only have blue left, time to restock I think)and our white corrugated striped ribbon

I painted our pink flowers and blue flowers, beads are from our strand of 13" glass beads when I put onto our eye pins then tied the top with organza ribbon.

I used our new wavy rhinestone strips behind the flowers which has our felt love heart on top. Oh the lace behind is our cream cotton lace that I painted as I wanted it white.

Finally in the left hand corner are some of our blue flowers centred with our blue and gold rings and tied with blue organza ribbon.

That is 7 challenges down 2 more to be finished by tomorrow night, so must be off, but first I think I deserve a drink!

Love to hear your comments, even if it is to gets mums email address to send her your messages of shock at what she has put me through LOL

Check out this new challenge site

Check out this new site, out of the hat challenge that I have joined up with.

You design the challenge each month! Send them your ideas - colours to use, techniques to use, number of photos, double or single page, anything that tickles your fancy - even things not to use. Then on the first day of each month, they will find a hat to hold all the ideas, and draw out three to challenge you.

Each month there will be three fantastic prizes up for grabs. Winners will be decided across three categories, public vote winner which is decided by you, a random winner which is drawn from the names of all those that enter and a design team winner which is chosen by the design team. The public choice winner for April receives a $20 store voucher from my2angels

You'll have until the 25th of each month to email your layouts and they announce the winner at the end of the month.

........ the April challenge is ..........

1. Use lace in a unique way - challenge set by Annette Ledger
2. Use a non square/rectangular background - challenge set by Sandra Wilkinson
3. Use a "non traditional" scrapbooking item on your page - challenge set by Anne Patterson
Out of the Hat is in every way a random draw. I collect all of the ideas and print them out on strips of paper throughout the month and keep them in a lunchbox (okay so the truth is out - it's not really a hat!) and on the 1st of the month I dip into the box and draw three of them. The only instance that the draw will be "rigged" is if two of the ideas directly contradict ie: use black/don't use black. That is the fun of this challenge - it's all up to chance and you never can know what will come Out of the Hat next!!

Go and visit them and give it a try

Hope your weekend was full of inspiration and many creations created.

I have been a busy bee over at Ready, Set, Scrap! Top 50 Scrapbook SitesApril Cyber Crop - 9 layouts in 5 days phew it takes it out of you but heaps of fun. You must go into the gallery over there and check some really inspiring layouts and OTP. I will post my layouts if / when I complete them
